WHEN & WHERE

In normal times, the Thanet Wine Appreciation Society has habitually aimed to hold 8 full meetings a year, starting with the year’s AGM in September and thereafter monthly from October to April inclusive on the second or third Thursday.

The Society meets at St Augustine's, 125 Canterbury Rd, Westgate-on-Sea CT8 8NL.

 

THE MEETING FORMAT

The usual format of each meeting is that of a tasting of up to six wines followed by a two-course supper. The tasting is overseen and commentated either by professionally hired expert speakers, or by individual members with a special interest.

 

EXTRA SOCIAL EVENTS

This programme is supplemented variously by outside meetings, functions and social events such as visits to local vineyards, and occasionally a foreign holiday abroad with a wine theme.
